The fruit is picked whilst still attached to the vine (each vine holds between 5 and 7 units). When they are collected, either ripe or half-ripe, they are smooth and attached to the vine which is shaped like fishbone. Some long life varieties can be picked on the vine with a good uniformity of ripeness and size amongst them.

Melon

Elongated fruits, with a predominance of the oval type, weighing between 1.5 and 2.5 Kg, medium ribbed and golden-yellowish tones when ripe. Yellowish-white pulp, compact, crunchy and very sweet (minimum 10º Brix). There are structured or smooth varieties. Slightly odorous pulp. Good conservation. The most important varieties are Piel de Sapo, Category, Campiño without hormones.

There are two types, canary yellow and golden yellow. The first is more oval and somewhat longer. smooth skin White, crispy and sweet flesh (minimum 8º Brix). They have a good preservation.

Spherical fruits, slightly flattened, light green or slightly greyish. The weight is between 600 and 1200 gr. The flesh is salmon-colored or less intense. Long-lived varieties are currently grown. This type of melon can be smooth with a creamy skin (normally) or wrinkled (more oval in shape). Minimum 10º Brix.

Spherical fruits of a green color that turns to yellow, with writing. Slightly greenish white flesh, good texture, with a minimum sugar content of 8º Brix. The average weight of the fruit is between 850 and 1900 gr. The new long-life varieties have a longer shelf life, a higher Brix of 1-2º and excellent meat quality, being solid and non-vitrescent.

Watermelon

It can be presented with a round or oval shape. The bark can be dark green or light green with darker streaks. Crispy red flesh with a minimum of 8º Brix. Fruits of average weight around 5 Kg and a minimum of 1.5 Kg.
